Bill Gates to Speak in Billion Dollar Lawsuit

I’m not sure how much money Bill Gates has because but I am sure that he has several billions of dollars. Therefore, it surprises me to see that there is a lawsuit that is worth one billion dollars in value against Gates. There is a large lawsuit going on between Gates and the creator of the WordPerfect program.

What is going on?

The story behind this lawsuit is that Novell, the group that formed the WordPerfect program, had sued Microsoft in the past. This was because Microsoft had been accused of violating antitrust laws when it had sold Windows 95. This was due to the way how WordPerfect program was sold alongside other types of programs in the same function. This is a serious concern because Novell was said to have lost a little over a billion dollars in value when it sold off the WordPerfect program.

Gate’s opinion

The opinion that comes with Gates is that Novell was not able to get a Windows 95-supported edition of WordPerfect ready in time. Also, Gates says that the Word program that has been used in Window over the years is an improvement over the WordPerfect program. I think this is kind of a form of bravado on Gates’ part by saying that this is a huge improvement but at the same time this is an interesting point that needs to be seen with regards to how the program is being handled.

Why is this so notable?

The reason why this is a big deal is that it involves a great amount of money but also because it involves the control that Word has over the market in terms of what is going on with word processing. It is clear that WordPerfect had been the key program for a while but Microsoft has broken the deal with the program when Word came out. As a result, Word is now the dominant program for word processing while WordPerfect has become so unpopular that Novell has lost a large amount of money in the process.

I understand that this is a big issue but the thing is that this is a lawsuit that will certainly be a challenge to handle. I would not be surprised if Novell won the suit but then again it is not as though Gates and Microsoft are going to be impacted heavily by the suit. After all, Microsoft already has billions of dollars as it is and should not deal with any serious issues in terms of how the suit is handled.

Authorities Catch Up to a Suspected Facebook Hacker

I have been using Facebook with the belief that it is a secure and safe social networking site that values my words and my privacy. Of course, I was shocked when I heard about recent news about a Facebook hacker being caught for getting into a variety of accounts of users that the person never even knew about. The biggest problem about this is that the hacker was located right in the state of Minnesota. It’s a real scary proposition to know that someone could end up hacking into Facebook right in the middle of your own country but it is a realistic problem that needs to be addressed.

Who was responsible?

The person who hacked into Facebook was Timothy Peter Noirjean, who is currently being charged for at least a dozen identity theft charges. He got into these accounts by getting in touch with female Facebook users and asking them to give out personal pieces of information about themselves to him. He then used this data to help get into the accounts of these people.

He used a fake identity to get women to post information to him. The women who posted information would then lose access to their account data and even expect their items to be posted online to other people.

What happened next?

Noirjean then took the information from Facebook pages and sent it to a variety of porn sites. This included information like email accounts and Facebook information. This was used as a means of getting women to become exposed on these profitable porn sites. The fact that these women did not consent to anything is a substantial problem.

The biggest problem is that the illegally posted items online may not be easy to remove. This is a real risk that needs to be covered when getting a hacker taken care of.

A valuable lesson

This story should be seen as an important lesson to anyone who uses Facebook for any reason. A person on Facebook should never post one’s personal details to anyone who is not trusted online. This is regardless of how miniscule this information may be. It only takes one email address just for a person to hack into other profiles. After all, the increase of social media in society has made it so some hackers might be more likely to try and get into other peoples’ pages. It will be critical to ensure that everyone protects their own pieces of data.

Obama Town Hall Session: A Smashing Success

I have been interested in seeing how different figures are using Facebook as a means of reaching out to more people and getting in contact with them for all kinds of needs. One thing that has really caught my attention in recent time is the town hall that President Obama plans of holding on April 20.

It is clear that Obama had used social networking during his presidential campaign and will more than likely do so again for his reelection bid. However, this move with Facebook is a completely new move that might influence the way how he is getting in touch with more people.

Who is being targeted?

This town hall is looking to target people from all around the country. Obama is especially using this as a means of targeting younger visitors who want to get information on issues that matter to them.

Of course, this will be targeted towards those who are concerned about the national debt. This is especially the case with regards to how the debt is working with difficult conditions that relate to the debt ceiling that the government has imposed on itself.

Who is involved?

A good number of people will be invited to the town hall at the Facebook headquarters in California. However, Facebook founder and head Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg will be the two big guests of honor here. Also, this is going to be posted for the public to see live as it happens. This should make for a very interesting point that will allow people to be more open to what is going on here.

Other details

The town hall through Facebook is expected to take place on April 20. Also, the official Facebook page for the White House will offer information on all of the details that will be coming up as they are being provided.

It is not certain as to what will happen during the town hall. However, I and other observers are certain that this may lead to a variety of other events being covered in town hall formats. This should help make the world of online functions a little more interesting for all kinds of people to deal with. After all, if the president is going to be posting his own information on a town hall through Facebook then the odds will be other big name parties might want to do this in the same way later on as Facebook advances in power.

Facebook Alters the Dynamics of the Like Button and the Comments Section

I know that many of my Facebook posts are often approved when people click on the Like button and leave their own messages on the site. These are used to give me feedback over what is going on with my site and to see if my information is being used as responsibly as possible. However, the site has had some difficulties with regards to getting people to be truthful with their Like statements. This is why I am pleased to see how Facebook is changing the ways how Like statements and comments are being handled.

A new process

The process of clicking the Like button on a post is going to be new. A user can post a comment on a Facebook post and then allow the user to take a look at other comments and remarks on the same post. This includes allowing posts at are used to help keep the conversation working as well as possible. This may be used to help keep the conversation flow working to where it is still healthy and useful.

Also, a person will be asked to make a comment if one chooses to Like something. It is optional to get a comment posted. However, this is used as a means of helping to keep the process working as well as possible.

Why is this useful?

The reason why I enjoy this is because it makes people have to give their own reasons for why they like certain things. They can’t just simply click on the Like button on their friends’ posts. This is used to help create some changes to the way how everyone on the site interacts with one another to where it may be a little more effective and useful for everyone to handle.

This is a real benefit that shows just how important Facebook has become to all sorts of online users. It will be used to make conversations more interesting.

How these changes are useful

These changes work to help create things that involve different kinds of contacts that will be used to help ensure that the comments that are being posted are accurate and truthful to where they will be more reliable and useful for anyone who wants the best information on what they are doing posted on the site.

I know that these changes should help to make the site more useful and beneficial for all people. This is because they will involve many controls that are used to help keep the site operational as well as possible.
